    1. WHAT IS PEOPLES BANK INTERNET BANKING ?
 

People's bank internet banking facility(People's NET) offers you financial services via the Internet. People's NET also offers value-added services you do not normally enjoy at the banking counters in the most customer friendly manner.
To perform any transactions in the People's NET, you would need to have a People's NET User ID and Password.
The facility is open for any account holder of the bank. You are invited to read the frequently ask questions (FAQ) and also to experience the experience the internet banking with People's Bank.

  Instant access to any of your accounts; Current/Savings/Fixed(Term)
Deposits/NRFC/RFC/Loans ,Quick view & Balance Inquiry
View or Print past account details ( Account History)
View details of uncleared cheques
Fund Transfer between own Accounts(LKR to LKR/ Foreign currency to LKR)
Facility to credit funds from own accounts to any third party account maintaining at
any Branch of the People's bank.
Bill Payment Facility Utility (Electricity Bill,Water Bill, Dialog Bills, Mobitel Bill ,LECO,SLT,Lanka Bell etc..)
Bill Payment for Non Utility – Ceylinco Life, Union Assuarance Life, Union Assuarance Loans, Janashakthi , CDB Leasing, Oriant Finance Leasing, CPC Dealer, People's Insuarance Premium, ETF Contribution for self/Employee, People's card Centre Payments

  3. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN THIS FACILITY?

 

If you are a Current or a Savings Account holder at any Branch of People's Bank, can register for the facility and be a prestigious customer who is experiencing the internet Banking Facility of People's Bank.

   
 
 
  4. IS INTERNET BANKING SECURE AND SAFE?
 

Your user id and the password is the key to enter into Peoples Bank Internet Banking facility. The bank also use SSL 128 bit data encryption to protect information exchanged between your PC and the bank. 128 bit encryption is a strong data encryption level available currently., Data transmitted between your PC and & Bank's Internet banking site is strongly encrypted, so that no intruder can have access to data. You also have the facility to change your password anytime you wish.

Also Bank use two factor authentication mechanism for fundtransfers.

You are also requested to take additional precautions especially with your user id and password when you are using public PCs.

 
 
 
  5. ANY MORE ON SAFETY ?
 
1. Remember your User ID and Password and NEVER write them down anywhere nor reveal them to anyone. Your User ID and Password will authenticate you when you log on to People’s Bank internet banking.
2. Change your Passwords from time to time, using the "Change Password" Option.

3. Before leaving the PC please CLOSE THE BROWSER.


4. Notify the Bank immediately if you notice any unusual account activity.
   
 
 
  6.HOW MUCH WOULD COST ME TO HAVE THE INTERNET BANKING FACILITY?
  Currently The 'PeoplesNet' Internet Banking Facility is a free service and no charges incurred for you.
   
 
 
  7. HOW DO I REGISTER?
 

Log in to www.ebank.peoplesbank.lk and click the required link for new registrations.

All individual account holders can create their user id and password after submitting the required details.

To activate the user account,
Please kind to visit the relevant Branch.

If your are in abroad.
a. Log on to the system using your have already created user id & password
b. Get a hard copy of application by selecting ->Edit user Profile->Print Application
c. Place the signature and certify your signature by barrister, solicitor or SriLankan Diplomatic office, and post to the People's Bank relevant Branch by Air mail.

If you are a corporate user or a Vostro Agent you are kindly requested to download the forms, complete and submit with required documents.

Your account manager will follow up and do the needful thereafter. The forms and details are hosted in the home page.

 


 
 
  8. FROM WHEN I COULD ACCESS AFTER CREATING MY INTERNET BANKING USERID ?
  Once created your branch manger will be able to see your new inter banking account. After scrutinizing the details manager will activate the account. You will get an email notification after activation.
   
 
 
  9. WHAT IF I LOST /FOGOTTEN MY PASSWORD?
  You are required to download the forms for reactivation/re issuing , complete and submit to your branch manager. After scrutinizing the details manager will activate the account. You will get an email notification after activation.
   
 
 
  10. CAN I USE INTERNET BANKING FROM OVERSEAS?
  Yes the facility can be access from ANY WHERE ANY TIME.
 
 
  11. HOW TO ADD NEW ACCOUNT FOR USER PROFILE ?
 

This option only for personal Banking users who are already authorized.
Login to your e-bank account
Go to 'Edit User profile'
Buttons will appear on the top as 'Add Accounts'
- Click Add Accounts

You will get a screen with following fields

AccountNo -15 or 16 digit Account No eg 004200100099999
Category -Account Category from the list
CA/SA - Any Savings or Current Account
Loan - For Loans
TimeDeposit - FIXED Deposits
Credit Card -Peoples Credit Card
System will check your newly added account's NIC number with your Internet banking user profile's NIC, if both are same,
get activated automatically for personal Banking users.
Corporate users must submit new application for relevant branch for new account addition.

This way you can add/remove accounts as and when needed.
Once completed click 'Cancel' button to close the window.

 
 
  12. HOW TO ADD UTILITY PAYMENTS TO YOUR PROFILE ?
 

Login to your e-bank account

Go to 'Edit User profile'
Buttons will appear on the top as 'Add Utility'

For Utility payment

- Click Add Utility

You will get a screen with following fields

Service Provider -select service Provider
Bill Reference -Type the reference no
Reference_Nick_Name -Type a nick name for the service

This way you can add/remove Utility accounts as and when needed.
Once completed click 'Cancel' button to close the window.

 
 
  13. HOW TO PERFORM FUND TRANSFER ?
 

Click on 'Fund Transfer' button
Select currency type from
LKR to LKR
Foreign Currency to LKR
Select Transfer type from
To Registered accounts
To People's bank Third party Accounts
To other Bank Accounts

Select your account (The Account to be debited)
Select Beneficiary account (Account to be credited)
Type the Amount to be transferred
Re-enter amount to be transferred
Type remarks if any

If you have select "To Peoples bank Third party Accounts" as transfer type you have to click on "Get Security Code" button and within a short while you will receive six digit two minutes valid security code to your Mobile phone as a SMS and have to enter this code in security code text box.
Now Click Transfer button

Get a printout after successful transfer
Fund transfer limit as follows(For foreign currency accounts, equivalent LKR value is applicable)



  To Own Accounts To Third Party Accounts To other Bank accounts(Online/SLIPS)
Personal User No limit 500,000(LKR) 1,000,000(LKR)
Corporate User No limit 1,000,000(LKR) 1,000,000(LKR)

 

If the other bank fund transfer has been rejected, a SMS notification will be sent to related People's NET user's mobile phone, after the bank receive the reject message.
This will take at least two working days

 
 
  14. HOW TO PAY UTILITY BILLS ?
 

Click on 'Bill payment' button
Select the Account to be debited
Select the service provider from the list (if does not exist add from edit user profile screen as instructed above)
Select the Reference no.

* For LECO and Water board utility payments a billing cycle field will appear. Select the year and the month of the paying bill.

Type the amount to be paid
Re-enter amount to be paid

Type remarks if any

Click 'Do bill payment'

When doing a fund transfer or a utility payment, after successful completion of the transaction,
the debited account transaction list will be displayed. Click on 'print' button in the reference
Column of the particular transaction, to print the receipt.
